Southern Fried Chicken

Serves: 3
Prep time: 60 minutes (marinating required at least. 3 hours)



Ingredients

  1. Chicken drumsticks: 6 (with or without skin)
  2. Salt: to taste
  3. Vinegar: 2 tbsp
  4. Soy sauce: 2 tbsp
  5. Hot sauce: 4 tbsp
  6. Ginger & garlic paste: 1 tsp
  7. Black pepper: 2 tsp
  8. Red chili powder (optional): ½ tsp
  9. Baking powder: ½ tsp
  10. Eggs:  2
  11. All-purpose flour: 1-2 cups

Method:

Marinade:

  1. Put chicken drumsticks in a bowl
  2. Add in salt, vinegar, soy sauce, hot sauce, ginger & garlic paste and 1 tsp black pepper in it
  3. Now mix properly and refrigerate for 3-4 hours

Coating:

  1. Prepare a mixture of flour, salt, 1 tsp black pepper, chili powder and baking powder
  2. Beat two eggs and add in 2-3 tbsp of hot sauce or until the eggs turn red
  3. Take out the drumsticks
  4. Coat the drumsticks in flour
  5. Dip them in eggs
  6. Again coat them in four
  7. Dust the excess flour and deep fry or until golden brown
  8. Serve with regular or chili garlic sauce
