Avari Towers Celebrates Egyptian Food Festival

Sweet smile and good food are two things that unite people. Irrespective of who you are and where you live, using these tricks can make your lives easier. I think, perhaps, this is the reason Avari Towers has been persistently celebrating food festivals of different countries in an effort to create a connection between Pakistanis and the foreigners living here.

Egyptian Festival is the second one I have attended after Turkish Food Festival at Avari Towers. And believe you me, when I entered the venue, I felt like they have actually called some Egyptians to create an ambiance, but they did not. In fact, the staff was dressed in a way that they actually looked Egyptians. Moving on to food, only by looking at it I felt like they have covered everything.

Rooh Afza Breaks the Monotony In The Category With New TVC

Gone are the days when hardcore selling was the thing. Now in order to sell your product to the consumers, you need to connect with them. There was a time when all syrup companies used to do in their advertisements was showing the colored juices being consumed by a group of people while having a good time. That’s it. Probably this is the reason we never saw competition aka Brand Wars in this category because everyone was enjoying their own space.

Pujaran – The Aspect of Society Never Spoken of Before

The Pakistani society is indeed very male-dominated. From deciding on the fate of a girl child to be buried alive to leaving behind everything else in a race to earn money, men is accused of so many wrongdoings. But is it always so? I don’t think so. A more recent example is of a drama serial Pujaran on TV One that came as an eye opener for me.

When Women Broke the Norms

There are very few campaigns that leave an ever lasting impact on your mind. One of those campaigns is #BreakTheNorm. The campaign is all about appreciating women who do daring things. When I explored the hashtag a bit deeper, I found out about so many wonderful Pakistani women who standout from the crowd due to their exceptional acts or talent. From Arfa Kareem to the first female truck driver of Pakistan, the hashtag was full of motivational pictures and stories.
Check out some of the glimpses from the campaign here!

KAARIGAR - A Unique Footwear Experience

I am one of those people who are addicted to online shopping. However, I still somehow find it really difficult to trust a vendor online. This time around, while scrolling my Facebook timeline I came across some really amazing footwear with a touch of modernism and tradition at the same time. Amazed by the beautiful designs and finesse, I inquired the admin of KAARIGAR about the prices and the procedure to place an order. I was lucky enough to have interacted with Sana (the owner) herself who is so smooth to deal with. She helped me out with the decision making part as I am allergic to some kinds of leather.

Karachi Literature Festival 2017 – A Treat for the Mind

There are very few people who get excited when it comes to books. Though I am not a book worm or someone who has a treasure of shelves filled with books, thanks to online reads, I make sure I attend literature festivals to keep myself updated with the latest additions in this arena. This time around, my father, whose favorite genre is politics, was also in town so I decided to visit the then upcoming Karachi Literature Festival 2017.

TV One’s Wafa Ka Mausam

The recent ban on the neighboring countryy’s channels has somewhat brought back the Pakistani TV drama watchers. This has resulted in the launch of dozens of dramas after a couple of months. Like everything else, there are some hits and some misses in the TV industry too. Some dramas come up with new and grabbing plots, while some repeat the same mainstream content and lose the audience’s interest.

Celebrating the Unsung Heroes of Pakistan

Pakistan is a land of talented people. Every day, an uncelebrated hero does something that surprises the human mind and creates a difference in the lives of people. However, not all of these gems get acknowledged for all their efforts.

Thanks to Altas Battery for their recent campaign “Sparkistan” where they are highlighting Pakistanis who have done something remarkable for the nation. For this purpose, a team travelled across Pakistan to find these heroes. After collecting the notable profiles, the team compiled the stories and started promoting the success stories through social media. This has resulted in creating awareness about the spark in these exceptional people and have given them the fame they truly deserve.

Entertainment Goes Digital with Tapmad App!

Last week I happened to go to a Bloggers’ Meet up which was about the launch of a new app called ‘Tapmad’. For which, I had to miss out on my favorite drama and on my way I couldn’t help but thinking about catching up the episode on YouTube later that night. Little did I know at that point that I am going to get a permanent solution to watching TV while on the go!

Turkish Food Festival at Asia Live, Avari Towers – Review

If you have lived in Turkey or enjoyed their traditional food in the Middle East before, you will definitely know my struggle to find the similar authentic Turkish taste in Pakistan. So, after I was disappointed in finding the best Hummus in Karachi that tasted exactly like the one they have in the Middle East, a friend referred me to the ongoing Turkish Food Festival at Avari Towers. Intrigued by the name only, I decided to give it a try because among all the high end hotels I know; only Avari Towers is well-known for celebrating food festivals from different regions where they do not compromise on the taste and quality.

Call the Band Celebrates 15 Years With Fans!

There are very few artists who give value to their friends, let alone celebrate their fifteen years of association with a dedicated hashtag. Sounds strange, right? Well, this certainly is not. A few days back I saw posts with #15yearswithcallfans being shared on my social media timelines. Excited to read the name “Call” I decided to examine the hashtag and it got better with every passing minute

Now that you are here to find out the chick, let me tell you, you won’t regret reading about the tenderness and juiciness this scrumptious delicacy is made of. C’mon, do not be a pervert. 2 Reasonably Priced Phone Brands I Wish to see in Pakistan

If you ask me, I am one of the most unsatisfied smartphone customers (blame my excess usage of social media apps and online reading habit for it). Anyways, so, ever since I have been deprived of my Samasung Galaxy S3 on gun point, a.k.a mobile snatching, my life has been terribly miserable. I couldn’t find a single smartphone that can work effectively without getting hung or confused at what I am commanding them. LOL.

Jokes apart, one day when my Huawei P8 Lite completely refused to start and did not cooperate, I was forced to search about the best phones I can get in the most reasonable price. Though some of these brands are available locally through black market, I usually prefer going for brands that are officially available in Pakistan.

Cutting the long story short, out of four best phones that I came across, two of them aren’t available in Pakistan yet. Sigh and sobs!

How I wish these brands were available in this part of the world as well (I hope so they will think about it soon)

Xiaomi

It was the first brand that popped up in my search bar, so I will definitely start with it. Headquartered in China, Xiaomi is determined to introduce the high quality latest technology in an affordable rate. They are already present in Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, India, Brazil and Indonesia. I hope they further expand their market to Pakistan. So far, their most loved brands by consumers are

Xiaomi Mi Mix

It is the latest addition in Xiaomi’s family. The most futuristic phone with 91.3% screen to body ratio. The almost no-edges design wasn’t easy to develop and required a lot of work in other areas too. Apart from great design, Xiaomi Mi Mix offers 6 GB RAM, 16 MP rear camera, 256 GB storage and a battery of 4400 mAh.

Other notable devices by Xiaomi are:

· Xiami Mi 5

· Xiaomi Mi 4i

· Xiaomi Redmi Note

· Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G

· Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime.

iDroid USA

In 2012, five entrepreneurs decided to open up a small startup that has now grown up to become a full-fledged organization. iDroid USA aims to become the market leader with its cutting edge technology and this mission is the reason they are relying on extremely sophisticated and advanced research methodologies.

iDroid Royal V7

This phone is just perfect for anyone who is looking for a good camera. Its 13 MP rear and 5 MP front cameras are ideal for HD pictures and shoots. V7 is actually a Phablet with 540x960 pixel resolution. With 1 GB RAM and 8 GB ROM, which is comparatively a bit less than other vendors, this phone offers a decent design, which is unlikely to be found in other counterparts. Instead of round edges, V7 has rectangular corners to give you a premium feel.

Other phones of iDroid that I look forward to are:

· iDroid Apache G6

· Tango 2 White

· iDroid BALR X7

· Tango A5

Apart from these, I would really like to see Amazon phones making their way in the Pakistani market. However, I think these two brands will probably be successful in making me forget my previous phone by staying with me through thick and thin. RIP Samsung Galaxy S3!
